For Utilisoft, the quality of the staff is as important as the quality of their products.  Utilisoft has a history of recruiting high calibre individuals with extensive technical and market knowledge to develop, support and promote their products.  The Management Team of Utilisoft has decades of experience in both the software and Utilities industries, and combine this expertise to lead and develop the team.

John Furness - Managing Director

John Furness

John joined Utilisoft in 1999 as Sales Director, and is responsible for the account management team and for leading sales campaigns in global Utilities markets.

John was subsequently promoted to Managing Director in January 2006 - taking on responsibilty for day-to-day management of the company and managing key client and partner relationships.

Martin Evans - Technical Director

Martin Evans

Martin is a co-founder of the company (with Peter Kennedy). As Technical Director, Martin is in overall control of the technical strategy and takes a lead role in designing and delivering the full range of solutions.

During his 25 years in the IT industry, Martin has worked with a wide variety of development tools, techniques and methodologies, and has successfully implemented advanced solutions for many blue-chip clients. He believes that the technical department’s focus must be based on customer requirements and suggestions. His particular skill is in explaining complex technical issues for individuals who are not IT experts.

Martin graduated from Liverpool University in 1979 with a first class honours degree in Mathematics.

Andrew Green - Technical Account Director

Andrew Green

Andrew joined Utilisoft in August 2001 in the role of Technical Manager. He was subsequently promoted to Technical Account Director. His responsibilities include providing technical support and management through the sales process, from architecture and solution design through to delivery. Andrew is also responsible for managing the architecture / pre-sales team, the Utilisoft helpdesk, technical strategy and defining internal system architecture across the Utilisoft group.

After graduating from Loughborough University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Computing and Management, Andrew worked for Fujitsu Services (formerly ICL) as a Technical Consultant.

Matthew Hirst - Sales Director

Matthew Hirst

Matthew is Utilisoft’s Sales Director with overall responsibility for leading sales campaigns, account management and marketing strategy in global utilities markets. Matthew joined Utilisoft in May 2000 as Marketing Manager, was promoted to Sales and Marketing Manager in January 2006 and subsequently promoted to his current role in July 2008. Matthew has a BSc (Hons) in Business Operation and Control from The University of Salford and previously worked in a variety of sales and marketing positions for Fujitsu Services (formerly known as ICL).

Nick Makinson - Company Secretary

Nick Makinson

Nick joined the team in December 1997 and is responsible for all of Utilisoft's financial operations and reporting.

He has over 25 years of accountancy experience being ACMA qualified and is also a registered member in practice.  He was appointed Company Secretary in August 1999.

Andrew Humby - Director of Retail Energy Solutions

Andrew Humby

Andrew joined Utilisoft in 1999, having previously worked in the industry for Northern Electric, where he was responsible for a number of projects including creating a system that exported MPAN Advances for customer use, creating MRASCO test routes, dealing with system representatives regarding functionality of the systems and the test route compliance.

Andrew is Director of Retail Energy Solutions at Utilisoft, taking control of the technical development team, leading the development of new solutions and is heavily involved with clients, from the initial stages of contact, through to requirements gathering and solution delivery.

Nick Antrobus - Development Director

Nick Antrobus

Nick graduated from Liverpool University with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Computer Information Systems

Nick is the Development Director at Utilisoft, heading up the technical development team. He is heavily involved with clients, from the initial stages of contact, through to requirements gathering and solution development.

Nick has previously worked at a number of software houses developing various aspects of  trading and settlements software, writing trading and analysis software and managing software development teams.

Vinesh Patel - Lead Business Consultant for Retail Systems

Vinesh Patel

Vinesh joined Utilisoft in 2002 in a testing role, having previously worked in the industry for Vertex. He was recently appointed as the Lead Business Consultant for Retail Systems. His responsibilities in this role include the daily management of testing activities as well as executing tests and the planning of work with the other managers in the Business Systems Team.

Vinesh also has responsibilities as a business analyst and provides critical hands-on customer support.

Mark Coyle - Corporate Development Director

Mark Coyle

Mark Coyle joined Utilisoft in October 2007 as Corporate Development Director, from Logica's Energy Business.  Mark is responsible for driving company growth through business planning, strategy development, partnership evolution, industry engagement and new business initiatives. 

Mark works in close collaboration with clients, partners, the energy & utilities industry and corporate end users of energy to further enhance the value of Utilisoft in enabling operational excellence to the sector now and into the future.

Simon Parker - Marketing Manager

Simon is Utilisoft’s Marketing Manager, having joined the company in November 2004 as Marketing Executive. Simon is responsible for Utilisoft’s internal and external marketing communications, website, events management and Public Relations.

Simon was promoted to his current role in July 2008; he has a BSc (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Bradford, and in 2007 achieved the Chartered Institute of Marketing Postgraduate Professional Diploma.
