As part of its strategic commitment to support the evolution of global energy markets to meet the future security, sustainability and affordability needs, Utiligroup today announces its intention to offer product based software and Managed Services to support operation within the new OFGEM Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme.
The Feed-in Tariff scheme provides financial incentives for consumers that operate micro-generation which off-sets their demand and put any surplus power back into the connected network. This is an area of growing importance in achieving the Roadmap set out in the Government's UK Low Carbon Plan.
Participation in the scheme by Energy Suppliers or Consumer Bodies requires the submission and management of key asset data to a central register and the use of this data within standard energy processes. To support the use and growth of the scheme, Utiligroup's solutions and services will enable compliance, efficiency, operational simplicity and scalability of operations from scheme commencement through its emerging maturity as volumes grow.
Utiligroup is engaged in the ongoing market definition of the scheme and is in discussion with a range of interested parties. Furthermore, it welcomes discussion with those who will operate in the FIT scheme to explore its solutions and services can meet operational needs now and into the future.
